In Search of Inspiration

Wissam Boustany's In Search of Inspiration flute courses have gained a reputation for being intense, enlightening musical meetings, which serve as a catalyst towards defining long-term musical goals. The courses are held annually in France. The courses are open to flutists (usually above the age of 16) and are kept small in order to develop intimacy and trust. The limited number of participants also allows the time spent in classes, rehearsals, individual lessons and socialising to be more enjoyable and of a high quality. Come and enjoy several days of intense music making, self-discovery, fresh air and great fun.

Who are the Participants?

As a participant the only requirement is a genuine love for music and appreciation of its importance in life.

  • You could be a student preparing for exams, auditions, competitions or concerts.
  • You could be a professional with a need for some soul-searching or seeking refreshment in your routine.
  • You might be a teacher looking for new ideas and opportunities to play.
  • You could be a keen amateur in search of inspiration and the chance to play and hear others.

The wide variety of participants results in a diversity of styles, ambitions, and influences to be present on the course.

End of Course Concert

The end of the course is usually celebrated with a concert in which some participants share the stage with Wissam (the number varies from course to course). A group discussion concerning which participants have made the most progress (not necessarily technical advancement) leads to a joint decision as to who should perform. Proceeds from the concert go to charities linked to Towards Humanity, an international initiative founded by Wissam, which supports humanitarian work around the world.
