The celebrated virtuoso
flautist and humanitarian, Wissam Boustany, brings together three works
on this new CD which have been "shaped, inspired or influenced
by the spirit of angst that has prevailed all over the world, born out
of the consequences of oppression, injustice and war".
The Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian's Flute Concerto is deeply influenced
by Armenian and Georgian folk music. Houtaf Khoury's Mirror of Eternity
(written for Wissam Boustany) is a reflection on life in Arab countries
and Ukranian Yevhen Stankovych's Chamber Symphony No 3 is a "work
of awsome power and emotional depth."
